Family Practice of Atlanta is a premiere medical practice complete with skilled and experienced staff highly dedicated to providing their patients with the best level of service and care. Their offices are located at 1428 Scott Boulevard in Decatur, Georgia. The practice is open to all patients Monday through Friday, 8:30am until 5:30pm.
Family Practice of Atlanta is owned and operated by Dr. Sondi Moore-Waters. She has over 20 years of family medicine experience and has also earned a Fellowship at the Morehouse School of Medicine. Dr. Sondi Moore-Waters is a graduate of Oral Roberts University and received her medical degree from Meharry Medical College. She completed her internship at the Morehouse Family Practice before continuing her post-graduate studies in public health. Dr. Moore-Waters has held her Georgia State Medical License since 1988.
Dr. Moore-Waters completed her residency in Family Practice June of 1992, prior to completing her Fellowship in Faculty Development at the Morehouse School of Medicine in 1993. Dr. Sondi Moore-Waters received her board certification for Family Medicine in 1993 and has been a board certified physician since that time.
With over twenty years of experience in clinical healthcare Dr. Sondi Moore-Waters has become a recognized leader in primary care medicine and continues to be a leading expert in her field. She specializes in preventive health care, women’s wellness, adolescent health and pediatrics. Dr. Moore-Waters efficacy as a health care practitioner is reflected in the verifiable health improvements of her patients.
Dr. Sondi Moore-Waters offers the patients of Family Practice of Atlanta a rich variety of medical experience. Prior to establishing Family Practice of Atlanta in 2000, Dr. Moore-Waters serviced patients throughout North Georgia. Dr. Moore-Waters has been a staff physician for many healthcare centers, including SouthsSide Healthcare, Job Corp, Health Ways, Medicare/Physician Care, North Dekalb Family Practice and served as an On-Call Physician at the Georgia Regional Hospital in Decatur, GA. Dr. Moore-Waters also fulfilled the capacity of Health Unit Physician for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Atlanta and was also the Medical Director for the Accelerated Rehabilitation Center in Decatur.
In addition to her career accomplishments, Dr. Moore-Waters has developed and implemented a successful series of cooking classes geared toward teaching patients how to prepare and cook healthier foods for themselves and their families.
Dr. Sondi Moore-Waters is a recognized name within the preventative care community and is an appreciated speaker in the lecture circuit. She passionately participates in workshops related to alternative medicine and continues to explore the various options patients have available to them regarding their health.
Dr. Anu Gulati received a Bachelor’s of Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) from Rangaraya Medical College (NTR University of Health Sciences) located in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh (AP), India. She then attended Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green, Kentucky where she earned a Masters Degree in Public Health (MPH). Dr. Gulati completed her Sparrow Family Medicine Residency at Michigan State University. Dr. Gulati holds permanent licensure in the State of Georgia and is also a licensed General Practitioner in the State of Andhra Pradesh, India.
Dr. Anu Gulati served on the Foreign Medical Educational Commission in 2002. She completed the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination (ACLS, ALSO and BLS) in 2004. Later in 2006, Dr. Gulati was a diplomat for the American Board of Family Medicine. She is a professional member of the American Academy of Family Practice, the Georgia Academy of Family Practice and the Kentucky Public Health Association.
Dr. Gulati's multicultural experiences has elevated her expertise in family medicine. Dr. Anu Gulati has managed all aspects of outpatient care including chronic medical problem management, elective excision of lesions with layered closure, I&D foreign body removal, cryotherapy, punch biopsy, shave biopsy, laceration repairs, trigger point injections, annual physical exams, DOT and sports physical exams. Dr. Gulati is experienced in treating patients with mental health issues. She is also a qualified provider of women's healthcare and has performed gynecological exams along with a variety of other women’s health services.
Dr. Anu Gulati professional experiences include interning at the Government General Hospital in Kakinada, India and as a general practitioner for the Kamineni Hospital, a well-known corporate hospital in Hyderabad, India. Dr. Anu Gulati traveled to the United States and became a clinical observer with department of internal medicine in Tucson Hospital’s Medical Education Program located in Tucson, Arizona. She joined Michigan State University’s Sparrow Family Medicine Residency Program in Lansing, Michigan where she was a Resident Physician and Research Assistant under Dr. David Walsworth. Prior to joining Family Practice of Atlanta in 2009, Dr. Gulati worked at Rockdale Family Practice in Conyers, Georgia.
Dr. Gulati has been a leader throughout her medical career. Her pre-medical school examination with an aggregate score of 99%, set her personal benchmark to excel in every facet of her medical career. Dr. Gulati has been the recipient of several impressive awards and honors throughout her medical career including the Distinction in Physiology from Medical School as well as honors in anatomy, pathology and surgery.
Ceronnie Robinson, a decorated Veteran Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force, graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at the U.S. Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri. Robinson later acquired a Bachelor’s Degree in Science and a Masters in Health Sciences Administration from Columbia Pacific University in San Rafael, California.
Mr. Robinson’s experience as a Physician Assistant spans various medical fields and specializations. His medical career started while he served as a P.A. in an Orthopedic Association in Austell, Georgia. He then worked in Savannah, Georgia as a Physician Assistant at the Chatmat County Jail in Savannah, Georgia where he eventually became the Staff Physician Department Head for the Georgia Department of Corrections. Ceronnie continued his career in Savannah as a Family Medicine Staff Physician Assistant at The Primus Clinic and later as a Physician Assistant for the Internal Medicine and Family Medicine Physicians at St. Joseph's Hospital Outreach.
Mr. Robinson assisted Dr. Marvin P. Jones, a Kingsland, Georgia Internal Medicine Practitioner and then joined Loving Care Physical Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia as a Staff Physician Assistant. He then relocated and became a Family Medicine Staff Physician Assistant at the Stone Mountain Immediate Medical Center. After two years he moved to Decatur where he joined Family Practice of Atlanta as a board certified Physician Assistant.
Ceronnie Robinson has held a Physician Assistant license with the State of Georgia since 1980.
